Cross County Shopping Center is a regional shopping mall in the southern Westchester County town of Yonkers, New York, United States. It is owned and managed by Simon Property Group and is anchored by Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom Rack, and Neiman Marcus Last Call.
The mall opened on February 14, 1954, with two department stores, Alexander’s and Stern’s. It was the first air-conditioned shopping center in the United States. A third department store, Abraham & Straus, was added in 1957. This store was closed in 1995 when A&S merged with Federated Department Stores (which owned Stern’s at the time). The former A&S space was split into Macy’s north and south locations in 2006. Lord & Taylor was added to the mall in 1983.
Bloomingdale’s opened a location at Cross County in 1991 in the former Alexander’s space. In 2004, the mall’s west wing was added, including a two-level Neiman Marcus Last Call clearance center. A food court and 14-screen multiplex cinema were also added in the west wing expansion. 2014 a Macy’s Furniture Gallery opened in the former Lord & Taylor space.
